Healthcare Management: A medical tourism perspective

Healthcare management is related to many diverse fields. Apart from being allied with hospitals, clinics, physiotherapy, it is also associated with a particular form of tourism which is known as medical tourism.
What is medical tourism?
It is the concept of travelling to other countries for cheaper or more useful modes of treatment. Such services usually deal with complex approach of procedures or surgeries like cardiac surgery, dental surgery, cosmetics surgery or joint replacement surgery. In addition to that, all areas under healthcare management are covered in medical tourism.
How is medical tourism great for healthcare management?
More than fifty countries have acknowledged medical tourism as a national industry. India is one of the major medical tourism destinations, mostly for patients from the west. The main points of attraction are presence of better and deeper insight into the medicines and their proximity to the nature.
Students of healthcare management expose themselves to an industry full of opportunities. With an addition like medical tourism, this field will certainly flourish. One may be part of different sectors under healthcare management and medical tourism, such as, administration, food and beverage, healthcare outlets, clinics, hospitals, specialized centres and many more.
Medical tourism provides a boost to the healthcare industry, especially in India. Therefore, a career choice in this field will be highly lucrative and rewarding.
